American Idol contestants and HAIR co-stars Ace Young and Diana DeGarmo got engaged last spring on a live broadcast of FOX's American Idol. Now the love birds prepare for their June 1 nuptuals as they document the gown-choosing on the TLC reality series BRIDES OF Beverly Hills.
According to the network, "Diana, 25, heads to Renee Strauss' Beverly Hills bridal salon to try on gowns. She wants something simple, elegant, but that gives her a warm and fuzzy feeling, While trying on dresses, Ace surprises his Broadway star fiancee at the salon, dropping by to tell her just how much he loves her and to wish her well in her search for the perfect gown." The episode airs Friday at 10 p.m.
Ace Young made his Broadway debut in GREASE in the role of "Kenickie." An "American Idol" finalist in Season 5 and a Grammy nominated songwriter, Ace has guest-starred on Fox's "Bones," co-hosted "American Idol Extra" and co-produced his debut album,Ace Young.
Actress and American Idol runner-up Diana DeGarmo made her Broadway debut in a four-month run in Hairspray as nerdy character Penny Pingleton in February 2006. She played the role of Sarah, the sexy, blind librarian and love interest of Toxie in the Off Broadway musical, The Toxic Avenger, and went on to star as Sheila in the Broadway company of Hair and Doralee Rhodes in the national tour of 9 to 5.
