The Hollywood Reporter writes that Daniel Craig has left the upcoming courtroom drama THE WHOLE TRUTH just days before the project was scheduled to begin filming in Boston. The start date is reportedly being pushed back three weeks from April 14 to allow the producers time to find a replacement.

Danny Huston was in talks to join the cast before Craig's departure, and Renee Zellweger and Gabriel Basso were solidly on-board for the film, directed by Courtney Hunt from a script by MATILDA's Nicholas Kazan. Atlas Entertainment and Likely Story are producing.

No word yet on why Craig left so late in the game. BWW will bring you updates as we know more!

The actor was last seen on the big screen as James Bond in 2012's Skyfall. He will reprise the role of Agent 007 for the franchise's still-untitled 24th and 25th films, which will be directed by Sam Mendes. He is also rumored to be returning in The Girl Who Played with Fire, the follow-up to the film The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

Craig last appeared on Broadway this season alongside his wife, Rachel Weisz, in Betrayal. His earlier Broadway credits include A Steady Rain.
