Once again, Damon Wayans Jr. will depart Fox's NEW GIRL.

According to Variety, Wayans Jr., who left the show after the pilot in 2011 to continue his run in Happy Endings, will exit at the end of the current season. His role of Coach will not be recast.

"I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to come back to 'New Girl' in season three to reprise the role of Coach," Wayans Jr. said "Working with this incredibly talented and funny cast and crew has been one of the best experiences of my career."

The actor was originally replaced by Winston (Lamorne Morris) as the loft's fourth roommate, alongside Nick (Jake Johnson), Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Jess (Zooey Deschanel).

NEW GIRL recently was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards, including Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Comedy or Musical (Deschanel) and Best Performance By an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television (Greenfield). The series was nominated last year for five Emmy Awards, including Best Actress in a Comedy Series for Zooey Deschanel and Best Supporting Actor in A Comedy Series for Max Greenfield. The series was nominated for a Television Critics Association Award in the category of Outstanding New Program as well as a Critics' Choice Television Award in the category of Best Comedy Series. Deschanel won the Television Critics Association Award for Best Actress, Comedy (tied with Amy Poehler). In its first season, NEW GIRL received a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Television Series - Comedy or Musical and a Writers Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Television - New Series.

NEW GIRL is produced by Chernin Entertainment in association with 20th Century Fox Television. The series is created and written by Liz Meriwether. Meriwether, Jake Kasdan ("Bad Teacher"), Peter Chernin (TOUCH), Katherine Pope (TOUCH), Dave Finkel ("United States of Tara," "30 Rock") and Brett Baer ("United States of Tara," "30 Rock") are executive producers.
