DVR Viewing of Kristin Chenoweth-Led DESCENDANTS Delivers Over 10M Viewers

Extensive DVR viewing raised the television premiere ratings for Disney's "Descendants" by 61% - to 10.539 million Total Viewers - over its first four days. DVR users also increased viewership by 74% among Kids 2-11 (5.168 million), by 73% among Kids 6-11 (4.200 million) and by 64% among Tweens 9-14 (3.756 million). On THE WATCH Disney Channel app, "Descendants" has also posted 1.8 million video views since July 24.

Three Disney Channel telecasts to-date reached 15.5 million unique Total Viewers, including over 6 million Kids 2-11 (6.143 million) and nearly 5 million Adults 18-49 (4.898 million).

The newly announced "Descendants Wicked World," an animated short-form series set in the Auradon and Isle of the Lost worlds of "Descendants," is set to premiere FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 18 on Disney Channel and its digital platforms, including WATCH Disney Channel (see separate news release).

"Descendants" is currently #1 on iTunes (Top TV seasons), and its soundtrack is currently at #1 on the iTunes soundtrack chart and #3 on the iTunes album chart. Its prequel novel, The Isle of the Lost by Melissa de la Cruz from Disney Publishing Worldwide, maintains its 10-week stronghold at #1 on the New York Times Best Seller List (Children's Middle Grade).

Directed, choreographed and executive-produced by Kenny Ortega ("High School Musical"), "Descendants" was written by Josann McGibbon and Sara Parriott. Wendy Japhet is also an executive producer, and Paul Becker is co-choreographer. Mark Hofeling is the production designer, and Kara Saun is the costume designer.

+61% in Total Viewers (10.539 million vs. 6.550 million), by +74% in Kids 2-11 (5.168 million vs. 2.970 million), by +73% in Kids 6-11 (4.200 million vs. 2.432 million) and by +64% in Tweens 9-14 (3.756 million vs. 2.290 million).

#1 cable TV movie of 2015 in Total Viewers (10.539 million) and #4 cable TV movie since 2007 overall, giving Disney Channel the Top 17 most watched cable TV movie premieres since L+3 ratings became available on January 1, 2007 (Top 10 listed).

#1 cable TV telecast in over two years across Kids 2-11 (5.166 million/13.2 rating), Kids 6-11 (4.200 million/17.7 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (3.756 million/15.6 rating) - "Teen Beach Movie" (07/19/13).
