Deadline reports that the current season of THE MEREDITH VIEIRA SHOW will be the last for the daytime talker, whose ratings have slipped in recent months. The former 'View' host will move on to NBC's coverage of the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
In a statement to Deadline, Vieira shared, "I am so sorry to see our show come to an end after this season, but I am also incredibly proud of the work our staff has done and forever grateful to our supportive viewers. We promise to spend our final weeks producing the best broadcast we know how. And have a blast doing so!"
The one-hour daily Syndicated talk show returned for its second season on Tuesday, September 8th, 2015, following a strong freshman season. Season Two brought a brand new live format and the addition of recurring friends from season one including 'NSYNC's Lance Bass, who joined Vieira daily for the show's "What's Hot Now!" segments. "I'm excited to be returning live for our second season - uncut and unfiltered, anything can happen," said Meredith Vieira last fall. "With the new live format, we'll be able to connect even more with our viewers and bring their voices into the discussion."
