Christopher Plummer Joins John Travolta in THE FORGER

According to Variety, stage and screen veteran Christopher Plummer will join fellow thespian John Travolta, as well as Tye Sheridan, in THE FORGER. Directed by Philip Martin (Wallander), the movie is set to begin filming in Boston in October.

THE FORGER, with screenplay by Richard D'Ovidio (The Call), follows a man (Travolta) who teams up with his father (Plummer) to buy his way out of prison via one last heist. Travolta's character wants to get out early to spend time with his sick son.

Plummer's upcoming big screen projects include Elsa & Fred, Hector and the Search for Happiness and Imagine. Past credits include The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Barrymore, Priest, The Tempest, Beginners, Up, Inside Man, National Treasure, A Beautiful Mind, Malcolm X, The Sound of Music and many more.

A two-time Tony Award winner, Plummer has appeared on Broadway in Inherit the Wind, King Lear, Barrymore, which earned him the 1997 Tony for Best Actor in a Play, No Man's Land (which he will revive this season opposite Patrick Stewart), Macbeth, Othello, The Good Doctor, Cyrano de Bergerac -- for which he won the 1973 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical -- The Royal Hunt of the Sun, Arturo Ui, J.B., Night of the Auk, The Lark, The Dark Is Light Enough, Home Is The Hero and The Starcross Story.

Travolta's Broadway credits include Grease and Over Here! Along with The Forger, he will next appear in Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father. He has appeared on the big screen in Killing Season, Savages, From Paris with Love, Old Dogs, Hairspray, Ladder 49, The Thin Red Line, Face/Off, Pulp Fiction, Grease, Carrie and more.
