According to The Hollywood Reporter, funny man Chris Rock is currently in talk to host the 88th Annual ACADEMY AWARDS on February 28th. This year's Oscars will be produced by Reginald Hudlin and David Hill.

Rock took on the high profile gig back in 2005 for the 77th annual awards ceremony. During the show, the comedian caused a bit of controversy by poking fun at actor Jude Law. He was called out on the inappropriate remark by Sean Penn, who came up to the podium later that evening.

Hudlin and Rock have previously worked with Rock on his 2005 series Everybody Hates Chris, which was based on Rock's years as a teenager. Hudlin helmed the show's pilot, which Rock created with Ali LeRoi.

Thus far, the Academy has not commented on THR's report.
