Fandor will release Chantal Ackerman's final masterpiece "No Home Movie," on Friday, April 1st exclusively on Fandor.

"No Home Movie" is the famed avant-garde Belgian director Ackerman's ("Jeanne Dielman." ) tribute to her mother, Natalia, a Polish immigrant and Auschwitz survivor who died in 2014, Screened to unanimous acclaim at The 2015 New York Film Festival, and only days before Ackerman died, "No Home Movie," is a beautiful, heartbreaking study of life andghosts in Ackerman's family and life.

At the beginning of the extraordinary "No Home Movie," Director Chantal Ackerman says "My mother is the center of my oeuvre," This statement provides valuable insights into her final, and perhaps most personal film, In the film, as Ackerman films her mother, Natalia further reinforces the notion that the director feels more disconnected than ever from her roots. And so, "No Home Movie" marks an attempt by Ackerman to find peace and reconcile her relationship with a very domestic and non-feminist homemaker portrayed in many of her films as non-heroic, particularly Ackerman's epic 1975 study of a housewife, "Jeanne Dielman."

As Ackeman speak to her Belgian mother, a survivor of the concentration camps, many things happen that will surprise even the most avid Ackerman fans. Images of technology, of the plains, of Ackerman's mother shot from various angles begin to build a story that's just as much, if not more, about Ackerman than her mother.

"No Home Movie" opens Friday, April 1 Exclusively on Fandor (www.Fandor.com).
