Critically acclaimed chef, restaurateur and television personality Bobby Flay will serve up special Kentucky Derby fare as he joins NBC Sports Group's coverage of the 143rd Kentucky Derby this Saturday, May 6 at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC. "The first Saturday in May marks one of my favorite days on the calendar each year. The Kentucky Derby is one of America's great sporting events and I take the opportunity to create a party either in my home, my restaurants or if I'm lucky enough right on the grounds of Churchill Downs," said Flay. "My checklist for the day is simple ... eat some Southern-inspired food, sip a little Kentucky Bourbon and pick a horse to root for as the Triple Crown on NBC gets under way."

Flay will prepare Spicy Bourbon Glazed Grilled Chicken Legs with Buttermilk Biscuits (recipes below) - a perfect southern-themed dish for a Kentucky Derby party.

A longtime horse racing fan, Flay last spring purchased a minority interest in Creator just three days before the 2016 Belmont Stakes. It proved to be a winning purchase, as Creator worked his way from a slow start in the back of the pack to win by a nose in a photo finish.

Flay, who was introduced to thoroughbred racing as a child with trips to Belmont Park and Saratoga Springs with his grandfather, Willie Flay, also campaigned More Than Real. In 2010, More Than Real captured the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Churchill Downs.

Flay has opened several restaurants across the country such as GATO and Bar Americain, stars on multiple Food Network shows and currently serves as a member on both the Breeders' Cup and New York Racing Association Board of Directors.
