Emmy-winning television star Carson Kressley joins the cast of off Broadway's NEWSical The Musical for four weeks only. NEWSical The Musical is the forever changing, completely un-sanitized musical mockery of all the news that's fit to spoof. From the looming fiscal cliff crisis to the pope opening a Twitter account to Honey Boo Boo, NEWSicalThe Musical sets all of today's biggest pop culture headlines to song. Kressley is the latest star to grace the NEWSical The Musical stage. Previously, celebrity gossip guru Perez Hilton joined the show for a limited run, followed by Broadway's original Annie, Andrea McArdle and most recently, Saturday Night Live's Cheri Oteri. Carson Kressley will appear in NEWSical The Musical from February 6th - March 3rd.

"Carson Kressley has become famous for making over the world. Fans are going to thrill over how he makes over NEWSical," said the show's producer Tom D'Angora at this morning's announcement.

Carson Kressley decided to join NEWSical The Musical after seeing his friend Perez Hilton in the show. "I was really impressed with the show and the intelligence of its humor. Perez told me it was a great time and that I should give it a try."

He is excited to add stage phenomenon to his already lengthy resume that includes television star, celebrity stylist, author and fashion designer.

Kressley has starred on several television shows including Lifetime's critically acclaimed How To Look Good Naked, OWN's Carson-Nation, and Bravo's Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, a role that earned him a primetime Emmy. He was voted a "fan-favorite" on ABC's worldwide hit, Dancing With the Stars, and recently completed a headlining gig as the host of Dancing With the Stars Live in Las Vegas.

He has been a style contributor on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Good Morning America and Live! with Kelly.

Carson Kressley is also a New York Times best-selling author with three books to his credit, including You're Different and That's Super, a children's book promoting diversity and tolerance.

He also has his own signature line of women's sportswear and accessories, "Love, Carson". Known for its easy, affordable glamour, it is available exclusively at Shop NBC.

Kressley explains that he was bitten by the Broadway-bug when he was ten-years-old and his family took him to see Annie. "After the show, I memorized the cast recording and was sure I was only a perm away from being a star!" he says.

He claims he can't sing, act, or dance, but says, "I've never let a lack of talent hold me back before and I'm not going to let it stop me this time. Hello Broadway, I'm coming your way!"

NEWSical The Musical features Christine Pedi (Sirius XM Host, Little Me, Talk Radio), Michael West (When Pigs Fly, Forbidden Broadway), Tommy Walker (Evil Dead The Musical), Susan Mosher (Hairspray), Emily McNamara (NYC Nightlife star) and Ryan Knowles (host of Nickelodeon's ME:TV).

Rick Crom is the show's creator and writer. He has appeared on Broadway in Urinetown, Footloose and The Goodbye Girl. On television, Crom appeared on FX's critically acclaimed series Louie starring comedian Louis C.K.

NEWSical The Musical is directed by Mark Waldrop (When Pigs Fly, My Deah, Inventing Avi, Papermill Playhouse's Gypsy) and produced by Tom D'Angora (Naked Boys Singing!, ICONS, Broadway Diva Christmas, Divas I've Done). Rounding out the creative team are Ed Goldschneider (music director), Jason Courson (set designer), and Ryan Obermeier (stage manager).

The Associated Press calls NEWSical The Musical "The Daily Show set to music!". It was named Best New Musical of 2011 by the Off Broadway Alliance for its infectious melodies, razor-sharp lyrics, biting satire and having more unpredictability than a Courtney Love tweet.

NEWSical The Musical plays at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street). Tickets are $85 - $110 and can be purchased through Telecharge.com or by calling (212) 239-6200 or (800) 432-7250. For performance schedule and more information visit www.NEWSicalthemusical.com.
