CNBC Digital today launched the CNBC Digital Workshop it was announced by Kevin Krim, Senior Vice President & General Manager, CNBC Digital. The CNBC Digital Workshop is a unique production studio that develops and produces original video programming for CNBC Digital products, including CNBC.com as well as its content partners.

"We have long been the dominant provider of online business video," said Krim. "To grow our leadership position, we have established the CNBC Digital Workshop which will create original videos that enhance our coverage, inform and, whenever possible, entertain. We believe our unique video programming will provide better information that leads to better decisions and give our audience of decision makers, serious investors and affluent consumers an edge to succeed."

More people come to CNBC.com to consume video each day and more videos are consumed there compared to any other non-portal business news site (Source: comScore, US Video Metrix, Content Videos, March 2013). Last month, total video views were 9.3MM, a 194% increase compared to the same time period last year, and average daily video viewers were 137K, a 317% increase year-over-year. CNBC.com also has the most engaged video audience, leading in minutes watched per viewer and videos viewed per viewer.

The CNBC Digital Workshop is introducing four new video series today:

3 to Watch - a daily after the bell show hosted by CNBC Markets Reporter Josh Lipton, that identifies the three stocks to keep an eye on during the next day's trading session.
Hacking America - a weekly Friday round-up that is powered by CNBC's Investigations Inc. unit and hosted by both CNBC Senior Correspondent Scott Cohn and CNBC Washington Correspondent Eamon Javers. Hacking America dives into the latest developments in the ongoing global fight against cyber-terrorism.
Chew & Brew - a weekly series featuring CNBC Reporter Jane Wells and colleagues discussing the latest and greatest epicurean delights. From bacon tacos to beer milkshakes, viewers will learn about the hottest companies and trends in the space and redefine their opinion of haute cuisine.
The Puppets Can Hear You - yes, we said puppets. In a video homage to the popular twitter feed, "@GSElevator," puppets bring to life verbatim comments that did not stay in a Wall Street elevator (#ThePuppetsCanHearYou, @PuppetsOH).

The CNBC Digital Workshop is also responsible for the recently launched Big Data Download, the twice-daily digital program that taps into the big data revolution to deliver valuable information to investors and business decision makers, and the just renewed Off the Cuff, both of which are co-produced by and appear on Yahoo! Finance. Off the Cuff, an intimate and insightful interview show that has featured sit downs with executives and industry leaders including Warren Buffett, PepsiCo Chairman and CEO Indra Nooyi, New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony and Revolution Chairman Steve Case, has become a habit for decision Makers and investors that are interested in what happens beyond the boardroom, so much so that Off the Cuff viewers are averaging 3.3 million minutes viewed a month (Source: Yahoo! Internal Metrics).

In addition, the CNBC Digital Workshop is also the destination for original online documentaries including Selling the American Dream: Investigations Inc. and The da Vinci Debate: Investigations, Inc. in which CNBC's Herb Greenberg investigates allegations of problems with the da Vinci surgical machine in his latest online documentary that debuted on Friday, April 19.

Next up in the coming weeks will be NetNet TV (Working Title) featuring CNBC.com's John Carney and Jeff Cox. NetNet TV will bring the popular blog to video once a week, showcasing Carney and Cox's unique perspectives on Wall Street and the foibles of the moneyed crowd.

"The CNBC Digital Workshop has the unmatched advantage of being able to tap into the incredible strength and talent of CNBC's vast editorial resources," added Krim. "We also believe it will be a place for experimentation and fun that allows us to stretch perceptions of the world of business as well as audience and advertiser expectations."

CNBC Digital Workshop is part of the CNBC Digital Editorial organization run by Executive Editor and Vice President Xana Antunes. Veteran television and digital producer Chris Sheridan will serve as the Executive Producer in charge of the day-to-day operations of the Workshop.
