CBS SUNDAY MORNING WITH CHARLES OSGOOD posted double-digit percentage viewer gains year-to-year and was again the #1 Sunday morning news program with viewers and adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for August 17.
CBS SUNDAY MORNING averaged 5.3 million viewers and posted a 1.1/07 with adults 25-54, the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news. Compared to the same day last year, CBS SUNDAY MORNING added 740,000 viewers, representing a +16% increase (from 4.56m).
Television year-to-date, CBS SUNDAY MORNING is up +6% in viewers (5.81 m from 5.49m) and even in adults 25-54 (1.4/07) compared to last year.
Sunday's broadcast featured Richard Schlesinger's interview with Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.), Anthony Mason's profile of singer Sam Moore; Lee Cowan's look at the life and legacy of Robin Williams, David Edelstein's essay on the career of Lauren Bacall, M. Sanjayan's report on elephant poaching in Kenya, Serena Altschul's story on a couple of adventure sports enthusiasts, and Steve Hartman's visit with Chris Rosati, who is dealing with ALS and has devoted the rest of his life to encouraging others to commit acts of kindness.
