Thursday, September 25th

THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL | 8:30-11:15pm | CBS
I know, I know, BWW TV World is a sister site of BroadwayWorld, and there aren't many theatre fans that would ever voluntarily watch football, especially when it is on opposite PROJECT RUNWAY. But this game pits two teams against each other that should be of special interest to us thespians. First, in absence of actual athletic allegiances, all self-respecting theatre fans must root for NY teams. That's a rule. Therefore, you all should be pulling for the NY Giants tonight. Now, beyond stage-dooring Andrew Rannells and getting deals at Broadway Flea Market, what do theatre people love most? A good social cause. Over the past year, the heat has been turned up on the Washington Football Team, over their insensitive nickname, which many believe to be a racial slur. There are regular protests, calls from Senators to change the name, and many sportscasters have refused to say the word on air. So, more reason to root for the good guys. Go Giants!

PROJECT RUNWAY THURSDAY | 9:00-10:00pm | Lifetime
On this week's episode, the remaining designers are tasked with finding a perfect stranger, and giving him or her a complete fashion transformation. One of these make-over attempts prompted a concerned Tim Gunn to tell one designer, "I have never said this to anyone in the history of PROJECT RUNWAY... it is hideous!" Oh, I am so excited to see what trainwreck caused this reaction!

SCANDAL | 9:00-10:00pm | ABC
How much money do you think it would take to get Shonda Rhimes to make a new episode of SCANDAL every week of the year? No holidays, no breaks, no hiatuses... hiatusi... hiatui? The three months off for Pope and Associates has been just too long. Fortunately, Olivia and Jake seem to have been spending their time off relaxing on a far off beach. But if we know Liv, there will probably be some tragedy that only she can fix, and she will ride in wearing a white hat and a finely tailored, sexy pants-suit to save the day.

HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER | 10:00-11:00pm | ABC
If GREY'S ANATOMY and SCANDAL are any indication, HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER is sure to be another sassy, fast-talking, surefire hit for creator Shonda Rhimes. Plus it has Viola Davis; that's just a bonus. In tonight's premiere, Davis plays a law professor who takes some students under her wing to help on a big case (LEGALLY BLONDE flashbacks anyone?).

PARENTHOOD | 10:00-11:00pm | NBC
The critically acclaimed NBC drama opens its sixth and final season with a bang, as we see Sarah taking Zeek to Las Vegas for his birthday, and Amber dealing with the results of her pregnancy. Though this will be our last (shortened) season with the Bravermans, we can at least all be grateful that NBC gave us this opportunity, yes? I have a feeling Kleenex might see a dramatic sales increase on Thursdays this fall.
