Broadway Vet Elliott Gould Guest Stars on NBC's Law & Order, 11/20

Broadway star and former Friends' Mr. Geller has reportedly signed on to guest star in a one-off stint on NBC's Law & Order.  In the episode, set to air on Friday, November 20 at 8pm, Gould will portray an angry Harlem-based business owner who goes rogue after a crime spree occurs in his New York City neighborhood. 

The long-running television show about the criminal justice system, follows a crime, usually adapted from current headlines, from two separate vantage points. The first half of the show concentrates on the investigation of the crime by the police, the second half follows the prosecution of the crime in court.

Gould will join series regulars Jeremy Sisto as Det. Cyrus Lupo, Anthony Anderson as Det. Kevin Bernard, S. Epatha Merkerson as Lt. Anita Van Buren, Linus Roache as ADA Michael Cutter, Alana de la Garza as ADA Connie Rubirosa, and Sam Waterston as District Attorney Jack McCoy.

Gould has appeared on Broadway in Irma La Douce, I Can Get It For You Wholesale, Little Murders, and Drat The cat!. Gould rose to fame on screen in the early-1970s, best known for playing Trapper John in Robert Altman's satirical 1970 film MASH. Notable film roles include Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice (which earned him an Academy Award nomination), A Bridge Too Far, Capricorn One, a remake of The Lady Vanishes, The Long Goodbye, Bugsy, The Last Flight of Noah's Ark, The Devil and Max Devlin, in which he co-starred with Bill Cosby, American History X, and Oceans Eleven, Oceans Twelve and Oceans Thirteen.  He starred in a sitcom called E/R in 1984-1985, and had a recurring guest role on Friends as Jack Geller, the father of Monica and Ross Geller. Gould currently serves on the Screen Actors Guild National Board of Directors and has done so for past six years.
