A-list couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt will reteam for Universal's BY THE SEA, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The drama, which Jolie wrote and will direct, marks the first time the pair have starred together since 2005's MR. AND MRS. SMITH.

"Angelina continues to showcase her extraordinary storytelling abilities in front of and behind the camera and we are thrilled to extend our relationship with her on By the Sea," Donna Langley, chairman of Universal pictures said in a statement released this afternoon. "Angelina and Brad represent two of Hollywood's brightest talents and we are excited to be a part of their collaboration on this powerful piece."

"I am very happy to continue my relationship with Donna and the entire Universal team as I finish Unbroken and begin work on By The Sea," Jolie said. "They have created a very special place for storytellers, and I look forward to the continued passion and support they have provided to me as a filmmaker."

Jolie -- in the director's chair -- is currently wrapping up Unbroken, based on the book by Laura Hillenbrand. Jolie made her directorial debut with In The Land of Blood and Honey.

She will next be seen in Disney's live-action Maleficent, set for release on May 30. Other recent acting credits include The Tourist, Salt, Wanted, Beowulf and more.

Pitt's upcoming projects include Voyage of Time and Fury. He recently starred in The Counselor, 12 Years a Slave, World War Z, Moneyball, The Tree of Life, Inglourious Basterds, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Burn After Reading and more.
