Betty White Picks Up Guinness World Record for 'Longest TV Career'

Deadline.com reports that Guinness World Records has awarded actress and TV icon Betty White the inaugural title of "Longest TV Career For An Entertainer (Female)." The new category is in recognition of the 'Golden Girls' star remarkable 74 years in show business. The 2014 edition of the tome will be on out on book shelves September 12th.

At 91 years old, White is one of the funniest and busiest actresses in Hollywood, currently starring on TV Land's "Hot in Cleveland." The comic hosted NBC's "Betty White's Off Their Rockers" until it was recently canceled by the network.

With a career that has spanned more than 60 years, the star of classic series like "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and "Golden Girls" has created Unforgettable roles in television and film. She has also authored seven books and won numerous awards, including those for her lifelong work for animal welfare.
