Welcome to Alexandria, as Jessie's creepy husband says. The crew has arrived at the mysterious Eden and they are being given the royal treatment new houses, running water, showers, haircuts, it's perfect. Too perfect?

When the gates finally open to the community of Alexandria, Aaron, Eric and gate guard, Nicholas, take Rick to meet Deanna Monroe. Deanna is a former Congressperson from Ohio and she is basically in charge of Alexandria. Turns out this was a planned community created to sustain on its own which tends to be perfect in a post-apocalyptic scenario. Rick is still skeptical, but a good shower can make anyone see things in a different perspective. After a long shave and a haircut from friendly neighbor, Jessie, Rick Grimes is back. (A big thank you to Director, Greg Nicotero for that freshly showered, dampened hair, Rick Grimes shirtless scene. It was greatly appreciated.)

Carl meets some kids his own age, but is mostly intrigued by Enid who likes to sneak outside the wall when no one's looking. He follows her and runs into his dad and the two take out some walkers the old fashioned way by stabbing them through their heads. Both Carl and Carol are afraid that if they let their guard down inside, they will become weak. Daryl is so skeptical that he won't even shower. (If Daryl has an upcoming scene ala Rick's tonigh? I may explode.)

Deanna assigns everyone jobs. Noah, Glenn and Tara are assigned with Nicholas and Aidan, Deanna's son, to go outside of the wall on supply runs. They learn quickly that Aidan and Nichols aren't the brightest as they like to tie up walkers and torture them rather than kill them. When Nicholas whistles to find a walker, Glenn and Tara immediately fly into action and instead of capturing the walker per Aidan's instructions, Glenn kills it. This sends Aidan into a fury and back on the inside brings Glenn and Aidan to blows only to be stopped by Deanna. Deanna proclaims to the town that these people are equals and assigns Rick and Michonne as the community constables.

So clearly, this is the closest thing to a sanctuary that they have found yet and it has all the makings of a permanent home. But there are definitely some things to be wary of... like Jessie's husband? What was THAT about? Creeper much? Obviously, there is some tension between Aidan and his mother, Deanna about who is really in control. So it seems like everyone in our gang is afraid that this is all too good to be true. All the makings are there of a perfect hideaway, but far too much has happened for them to jump in with both feet no matter how badly they want it. As Glenn said, "We need to make this work. We were almost out there too long." And he's right, they came very close to giving up completely.

And Deanna herself, do we really think we should be trusting a politician? I mean, that's red flag number one. But is she, herself, too good to be true? We all thought the Governor was a great guy too and well, we don't need to rehash that whole thing again, do we?

The other thing I noticed was that the score sounded like an old Western. Are we to believe that this is possibly the new frontier? That maybe this is the beginning of a new way of life for them? Unfortunately, the music wasn't soothing or pretty, it was eerie and I think at this point, we know better.

And I would be remiss if I didn't mention the last moment. Rick was showing signs throughout the entire episode of succumbing to this life and letting down his guard with Carol and Daryl remaining skeptical and yet... at the very end he tells them that if it isn't what they think it is, they'll just take it for themselves. And those are the survivors we know and love.

Lastly, let's talk about Carol. Her little role play she is playing as the meek, doting wife of Ed, volunteering mom figure is well, pretty much brilliant. Giving off such a vibe that she is one of the weak members of the crew when she is actually one of the most dangerous (if not THE most) in the group. It is a fantastic move that only Carol would think of and pull off brilliantly.
