Two-time Tony Award-winning Broadway superstar Donna Murphy is confirmed for a recurring guest starring role on hit USA series ROYAL PAINS, BroadwayWorld can now exclusively confirm.

ON USA NETWORK'S 'ROYAL PAINS'

Universal City, California -- April 9, 2014 -- Multi award-winning actress and singer Donna Murphy ("Made in Jersey," "Trust Me") will guest in the sixth season of ROYAL PAINS which returns this summer with 13 all new episodes. Murphy will play Berta, a savvy financial representative with ties to Boris' bank whose nefarious plans hinge on the one person Boris trusts - Hank.

Donna Murphy won the first of two Tony Awards for Best Actress in a Musical, along with Drama Desk and Drama League Awards, for Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Passion. She received her second Tony Award, as well as Drama League, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle nominations for the hit revival of The King and I. She was honored with Drama League, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Astaire Awards, as well as another Tony® nomination for "Wonderful Town and "LoveMusik." She received her fifth Tony nomination plus Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle Awards for "People in the Picture." Other theatre credits and awards include "Into the Woods," "Anyone Can Whistle," "Follies," "Wonderful Town," "Helen," "Twelve Dreams," "Hello Again," "The Mystery of Edwin Drood" and "Song of Singapore." Murphy's recent film work includes "Tangled," "Dark Horse," and "Higher Ground." She will soon be seen in the new television series "Hindsight." Her numerous film and television roles include "The Bourne Legacy," "World Trade Center," "The Nanny Diaries," "Spiderman 2," "Star Trek: Insurrection," "The Good Wife," and "The Mentalist." Season six of ROYAL PAINS promises to bring more fun and sun, and a host of celebrity guest stars to the Hamptons. When we last saw Hank (Mark Feuerstein, "Defiance," "Good Morning Miami"), he was embarking on a trip around the world, to provide medical care for Boris (Campbell Scott, "Damages," "Six Degrees"). This season, Hank will return to shockingly discover that his HankMed family has moved on without him. Evan (Paulo Costanzo, "Joey") and Paige (Brooke D'Orsay, "Two and a Half Men") continue to see the unconventional couples therapist who saved their marriage, Jeremiah (Ben Shenkman, "Drop Dead Diva," BURN NOTICE) is in charge of the practice and Divya (Reshma Shetty, "30 Rock") is a self-sufficient single mom. What will Hank's role be in this new family dynamic?
