Kate Pierson - iconic voice and founding member of the B52s, punk, new wave, genre-defying band, has released her debut solo record Guitars and Microphones, via Lazy Meadow Music/Kobalt Label Services. She dazzled fans at NYC's City Winery on February 25th, performing her entire new record in order and then inviting friend Debbie Harry out for a spectacular rendition of the B52s "Roam"!

The highly anticipated arrival of Guitars and Microphones has Pierson making waves all around. The album debuted at #7 on the Top New Artist Chart, and today marks the first of four nights that Kate will sit in with Late Night with Seth Meyers' 8G Band, airing 12:35/11:35c on NBC! She offered career and fashion insights on NPR Morning Edition and today reveals the video for her new album title track "Guitars and Microphones". "The song is autobiographical so I mined my treasure chest of family photos and my friends Dan and Dayna pulled them all together to make the soundtrack of my early days," shares Kate.

The "Guitars and Microhones" video premiered with Refinery29 today,

Revered for her anthemic pop chops, Kate's songs are rife with girl group wit, drama, and rejection of stereotypes, and her solo offerings are big songs with bigger meanings. Along with her 4-decade career as a B52, Pierson has collaborated with The Ramones, Iggy Pop, David Byrne and REM. Guitars and Microphones marries party rock, psychedelia and socio-political punk. This is humanism and feminism out for a real good time.

Produced by Tim Anderson (Ima Robot), Guitars and Microphones features Nick Valensi (The Strokes) on several tracks, with songwriting by Sia, who executive produced the album. The album is available now on iTunes, Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
