A 20th Century Fox representative confirmed to BuzzFeed today that Anna Paquin, whose character 'Rogue' had allegedly been cut from the upcoming X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, will now make a "cameo" appearance in the movie.

Back in December, BWW reported that X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST director Bryan Singer had nixed an "extraneous" rescue scene featuring Ian McKellen as Magneto, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Shawn Ashmore as Iceman and Anna Paquin as Rogue. He went on to say that because this was Paquin's only scene in the film, she would no longer be part of the project.

No word yet and when or how Paquin will appear.

X-MEN DAYS OF FUTURE PAST stars Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Halley Berry, Nicholas Hoult, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing, Boo Boo Stewart, Adan Canto, Evan Peters, Josh Helman, Lucas Till and Evan Jonigkeit.

The film will act as something of a sequel to 'First Class'. Days of Future Past is taken from two issues of Marvel Comics' Uncanny X-Men in 1981. The story was set in an alternate future in which surviving mutants were confined to concentration camps, while most of the X-Men had been killed. In order to stop this dismal future from unfolding, the X-Men had to stop a specific event from occurring in the past. In the movie, the beloved characters from the original "X-Men" film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from X-Men: First Class, in an epic battle that must change The Past -- to save our future.

True Blood star Paquin has also appeared on the big screen in Free Ride, Straight A's, Margaret, Scream 4, The Romantics, X-Men: The Last Stand, X2, Darkness, Finding Forrester, Almost Famous, X-men, She's All That, Jane Eyre and more.

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST will hit theaters on May 23, 2014.
