Andrew Garfield Signs on for AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Sequel

According to Deadline.com Andrew Garfield has signed on to appear in the sequel to THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, which is set to be directed by Marc Webb. Previous co-star Emma Stone is currently in talks to return as 'Gwen Stacy.'

Andrew Garfield received BAFTA and Golden Globe nominations for his breakout performance as Eduardo Saverin in The Social Network. His other film credits include Lions for Lambs, The Other Boleyn Girl, The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus and Never Let Me Go. TV credits include “Doctor Who,” “Freezing,” “Bash,” “Red Riding”. Garfield has appeared on stage in England with the Royal National Theatre, Soho Theatre Company and Manchester Royal Exchange. In 2012 he erned a Tony nomination for his performance in DEATH OF A SALESMAN.

In the first movie of the series, Spider-Man legacy is revealed, focusing on an untold story that tells a different side of the Peter Parker story, the film starred Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, with Martin Sheen and Sally Field. The film was directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay written by James Vanderbilt and Alvin Sargent and Steve Kloves from a story by James Vanderbilt, based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.
