This December, AMERICAN HEROES CHANNEL (AHC) unlocks the vault to reveal some of America's most important - and often hidden - treasures in the all-new original series, SECRETS OF THE ARSENAL. Hosted by veteran journalist Geoff Edgers, SECRETS OF THE ARSENAL takes viewers into the archives, storerooms and private collections rarely shown off. Examining everything from a secret letter that connected an underground spying ring during the Revolutionary War, to the double barrel shotgun used by infamous stagecoach robber Black Bart, Edgers is the consummate guide to bring history to life. The six-part series SECRETS OF THE ARSENAL premieres Tuesday, December 16 at 10/9c on AHC.

"In SECRETS OF THE ARSENAL, history leaps out of the textbooks and straight into the living rooms of viewers everywhere," said Kevin Bennett, EVP and General Manager, American Heroes Channel. "Led by Geoff's undeniable enthusiasm, we are taken to the roots of this country's humble beginnings, and are given the incredible opportunity to admire history in its most authentic form."

"I've spent the last twenty years chasing down stories, from Kansas to Egypt," said Geoff Edgers, the show's host and writer. "But in just one season, I've been able to get my hands on more precious primary source materials than I'd ever dreamed of in the past."

Each one-hour episode of SECRETS OF THE ARSENAL follows Edgers as he journeys throughout the United States in search of four different artifacts that shaped American history. Visiting museums and personal collections, Edgers holds history in the palms of his hands and learns the powerful, emotional and compelling stories behind each relic.

In the premiere episode, Edgers travels the nation in search of stories that hinge on a smoking gun. From THE WILD WEST to World War II, artifacts featured in this episode include: a rifle used in a classic shoot-out between a veteran lawman and a cross-eyed bandit; a trophy pistol stolen from a German U-Boat and hidden for more than 75 years; a double barrel shot gun owned by America's most prolific stagecoach bandit, Black Bart; and a revolutionary tactic by "father of American artillery" Samuel Ringgold that changed the course of the Mexican-American War.

SECRETS OF THE ARSENAL is produced by Red Rock Films for AMERICAN HEROES CHANNEL with Brian Armstrong as executive producer and Rob Kerr as series producer. For American Heroes Channel, Max Culhane is executive producer, Sara Kozak is senior vice president of production, Kevin Bennett is general manager, and Henry Schleiff is Group President, Investigation Discovery, Destination America, American Heroes Channel, Discovery Fit & Health and Discovery Family Channel.
