AMERICAN IDOL Winner Caleb Johnson to Honor Troops on PBS's 25th Anniversary NATIONAL MEMORIAL DAY CONCERT, 5/25

Caleb Johnson, the newly crowned Season 13 winner of AMERICAN IDOL, will continue what has become tradition and join the previously announced star studded performers in paying tribute to the service and sacrifice of all our men and women in uniform, their families at home and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Sunday, May 25 marks Caleb Johnson's first live television performance since the American Idol finale on May 21.

Like American Idol winners before him, he will perform the "National Anthem" to open the 25 th annual broadcast of the NATIONAL MEMORIAL DAY CONCERT, airing live on PBS from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. ET, before an on-site audience of hundreds of thousands, millions more at home, as well as to our troops serving around the world on the American Forces Network.

Caleb Johnson joins a star-studded line-up that includes: concert co-hosts Tony Award-winner Joe Mantegna and Emmy Award-winner Gary Sinise; distinguished American leader Colin L. Powell USA (Ret.); acclaimed Grammy Award-winning country music artist Jennifer Nettles two-time Academy and Emmy Award-winning actress Dianne Wiest; country music sensation and The Voice 2013 winner Danielle Bradbery; Broadway and television star Megan Hilty; musical prodigy and classical crossover star Jackie Evancho; world-renowned tenor Anthony Kearns; and veteran actor Gerald McRaney (HOUSE OF CARDS); in performance with the National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of top pops conductor Jack Everly. The multi award-winning program airs on PBS Sunday, May 25, 2014, from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m., before a concert audience of hundreds of thousands, millions more at home, as well as to our troops serving around the world on the American Forces Network.
