Shifting back into the 8:00-10:01 p.m. slot against stiff unscripted competition from NBC's "American Ninja Warrior" and Fox's premiere of "So You Think You Can Dance," "The Bachelorette" ranked No. 1 in its 2-hour time period and as Monday's No. 1 TV show in Adults 18-34 and across all key Women (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54). "The Bachelorette" ran in a virtual tie for the Adult 18-49 lead in the slot with NBC's "American Ninja Warrior" (1.9/6 vs. 2.0/7), while beating FOX's "SYTYCD" opener by 58% (1.2/4). "The Bachelorette" was the most social series on Monday (81,349 tweets) up 15% versus last week.

"The Bachelorette" surged week to week by 20% in Total Viewers and by 19% in Adults 18-49 to match a best-since-premiere number in young adults - since 5/18/15. In addition, the ABC unscripted series grew 6% from its telecast on the same night last year in Adults 18-49 (1.8/6 on 6/2/14).

"The Whispers" (10:01-11:00 p.m. - 5.7 million and 1.5/5 in AD18-49):
During the 10:00 p.m. hour, ABC's "The Whispers" debuted at No. 1 in its slot, beating NBC's "The Island" by 25% in Adults 18-49 (1.5/5 vs. 1.2/4). "The Whispers" was up from ABC's most recent summer debut in the Monday 10:00 p.m. time slot ("Mistresses" on 6/3/13 = 4.4 million and 1.2/3) by 30% in Total Viewers and by 25% in Adults 18-49. In fact among Adults 18-49, "The Whispers" stands as ABC's top-rated summer scripted debut in nearly 5 years - since "Rookie Blue" on 6/24/10.

In viewers and young adults, "The Whispers" stands as the best drama premiere this summer.

A note about DVR penetration: DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample is currently at 49% in U.S. TV Homes. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which are increasingly not reflected in the overnight Live + Same Day numbers. As a result, the Live + 7 Day ratings are the most accurate measure to gauge the size of the TV audience.

Projections Rationale:
Lifts vs. L+SD are based on the 2014-15 season for premiere telecast or an average for originals (excluding the premiere). Returning shows: Profile based on same show (either premiere or averages for originals). New Series: Based on similar series.
