ABC's THE BACHELORETTE Is Monday's No. 1 TV Series in Viewers and Young Adults

ABC won the week (w/o 5/30/16) in Total Viewers (6.9 million) and Adults 18-49 (2.2/8), beating its nearest competition by 2.0 million viewers (CBS = 4.9 million) and by 100% with young adults (NBC = 1.1/4). It was the Net's 6th straight week as the No. 1 broadcaster, holding the top position for the 7th time in the last 8 weeks (including ties). The Net delivered 6 of the Top 10 TV programs in Adults 18-49, placing each of the Top 2: "NBA Finals on ABC-GM1" - No. 1, "NBA Finals on ABC-GM2" - No. 2, "2016 NBA Finals: Post 2" - No. 5, "NBA Countdown-GM1" - No. 7, while "The Bachelorette" and "NBA Countdown-GM2" tied at No. 9. In addition, Game 1 and Game 2 of the 2016 NBA FINALS also ranked as the Top 2 most watched TV programs overall, respectively.

ABC's primetime delivery spiked week to week with Total Viewers (+44% - 6.9 million vs. 4.8 million) and Adults 18-49 (+120% - 2.2/8 vs. 1.0/4), marking a 3-month high on both measures - since w/o 2/22/16 with the Academy Awards.

Monday Opposite NBC's NHL Stanley Cup Game 1, TNT's NBA Western Conference Finals Game 7 and the premiere of "Roots" on Memorial Day, ABC nearly doubled original programming on FOX (+86% - 1.3/4 vs. 0.7/2).

ABC's "The Bachelorette" was Monday's No. 1 TV series for the 2nd week in row in Adults 18-49 (1.6/5), topping Fox's season premiere of "So You Think You Can Dance" by 60% (1.0/3 from 8:00-9:00 p.m.). The Net took the broadcast lead on Monday in Total Viewers (5.0 million) with "The Bachelorette" as the most watched series overall.

"The Bachelorette" (8:00-10:01 p.m. - 5.9 million and 1.6/5 in AD18-49):
Despite the strong competition from 8:00-10:01 p.m., "The Bachelorette" was up from its year-ago 2-hour telecast on Memorial Day by 9% in Total Viewers (5.9 million vs. 5.4 million) and held exactly even in Adults 18-49 (1.6/5).

"Mistresses" (10:01-11:00 p.m. - 2.9 million and 0.7/2 in AD18-49):
At 10:00 p.m. against the end of the Stanley Cup game, "Mistresses" built on last summer's Thursday finale (on 9/13/15) in Total Viewers (+7% - 2.9 million vs. 2.7 million) and Adults 18-49 (+17% - 0.7/2 vs. 0.6/2). Please Note: "Mistresses" aired on Thursday nights last year and did not premiere until three weeks later in mid-June, on 6/18/15.

"Mistresses" Surges in TV Playback: Based on last season, "Mistresses" surged by 63% in Adults 18-49 from L+SD to L+7 (0.8 rating to 1.3 rating) and added an additional 1.2 million Total Viewers to deliver 4.4 million on average.

Tuesday "500 Questions" (8:00-10:00 p.m. - 3.8 million and 0.8/3 in AD18-49):
From 8:00-10:00 p.m. opposite the season premiere of NBC's "America's Got Talent," night 4 of ABC's "500 Questions" grew sharply from night 3 on Saturday in Total Viewers (+41% - 3.8 million vs. 2.7 million) and Adults 18-49 (+167% - 0.8/3 vs. 0.3/2), earning a best-since-premiere number with young adults - since 5/26/16. Head to head in its 2-hour time period, ABC's "500 Questions" dominated its unscripted competition on FOX ("Hotel Hell"/"Coupled" = 1.8 million and 0.6/2) by 2.0 million viewers and 33% in Adults 18-49.

Wednesday "500 Questions" (8:00-10:00 p.m. - 4.5 million and 0.8/3 in AD18-49):
From 8:00-10:00 p.m. opposite season premiere unscripted competition from NBC's 2-hour "American Ninja Warrior" and Fox's "MasterChef" (8:00-9:00 p.m.), the season finale of ABC's "500 Questions" surged 18% from the previous night in Total Viewers (4.5 million vs. 3.8 million) and held even with its National Adult 18-49 rating (0.8/3). "500 Questions" drew its biggest audience since its season premiere and tied a best-since-premiere young adult number - since 5/26/16.

Thursday Featuring primetime coverage of the 2016 NBA FINALS Game 1 between the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers, ABC won Thursday night by wide margins, beating out its combined competition by 2.6 million viewers (14.2 million vs. 11.6 million - CBS, NBC, FOX and CW) and by 108% in Adults 18-49 (5.2/19 vs. 2.5/9 - CBS, NBC, FOX and CW).

"Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night 1" (Various Time Periods)
Airing around the NBA FINALS in various time periods across the country, "Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night 1" delivered heightened exposure for the ABC late-night talker in primetime. On average, "Kimmel Game Night" was up 88% in Total Viewers (4.5 million vs. 2.4 million) and 140% in Adults 18-49 (1.2/5 vs. 0.5/3) over the show's 2015-16 season averages in late-night.

ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night 1" grew over last year's start (3.8 million and 1.1/5 on 6/4/15) by 18% in viewers and by 9% in young adults to draw its biggest-ever audience for a "Game Night 1" and the specials' 2nd-most-watched telecast ever on any night (behind only last year's "Game Night 6"). Last night's special tied "Kimmel"'s highest-ever "Game Night 1" delivery in Adults 18-49.

"NBA Finals on ABC Game 1" (9:00 - 11:40 p.m. EDT) The opening game of the Warriors-Cavaliers 2016 NBA FINALS on ABC towered over its primetime competition and ranked as Thursday's No. 1 TV program in Total Viewers (19.2 million) and across each of the key Adult demographics: A18-34 (7.1/30), A18-49 (7.3/26) and A25-54 (7.6/23). Golden State won the opening game of the series by a score of 104-89 to lead the best-of-seven series 1-0.

Rising year to year in Total Viewers (+8%) and Adults 18-49 (+6%), it was the strongest-ever NBA FINALS Game 1 on ABC - ABC began carriage in 2003.

Among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34, the 2016 NBA FINALS Game 1 was TV's No. 1 telecast since ABC's "Academy Awards" in February - since 2/28/16.

Sunday With continuing coverage of the 2016 NBA FINALS (Cleveland-Golden State GM2), ABC took full control of Sunday's primetime, outdrawing runner-up CBS by 8.7 million viewers (13.5 million vs. 4.8 million - CBS) and more than doubling the other nets' combined in Adults 18-49 (+117% - 5.0/17 vs. 2.3/8 - CBS, NBC and Fox). In fact it was ABC's 2nd straight night to top its combined competition with NBA FINALS coverage among young adults.

"Jimmy Kimmel Live Game Night 2" (Various Time Periods)
Airing around the NBA FINALS in various time periods across the country, "Jimmy Kimmel Live Game Night 2" broadened the exposure for the ABC late-night talker in primetime. Through its first two broadcasts, "Jimmy Kimmel Live Game Night" is up for the 4th straight year in Total Viewers (+8% - 3.9 million vs. 3.6 million) to deliver its most watched 2-night average.

"NBA Finals on ABC Game 2" (8:00 - 10:43 p.m. EDT)
Featuring the Cavaliers at the Warriors, ABC's 2016 NBA FINALS Game 2 was Sunday's dominant No. 1 television program in Total Viewers (17.5 million) and across each of the key Adult demographics: A18-34 (6.2/24), A18-49 (6.5/21) and A25-54 (7.0/19). It was the 2nd consecutive broadcast for the 2016 NBA FINALS to finish as the No. 1 TV program of the night. The Golden State Warriors delivered a one-sided 33-point victory (110-77) to mark the largest-ever winning margin for an NBA FINALS Game 2 and lead the best-of-seven series 2-0.

It was the 2nd most watched NBA FINALS Game 2 on ABC (since beginning carriage in 2003), and on average through two games in Total Viewers (18.3 million), the 2016 NBA FINALS is delivering its 2nd strongest start on ABC, behind only 2015 when the first two games went into overtime.
