For the week of November 5, 2012, ABC's "Nightline" finished as the No. 1 broadcast program in latenight in all three key measures, Total Viewers (3.801 million), Adults 25-54 (1.412 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.099 million), according to Nielsen Media Research. In addition, "Nightline" has ranked as the No. 1 latenight program in broadcast in all 7 weeks of the season in overall viewers and in the key adult news demo.

Season to date, "Nightline" ranks No. 1 among the latenight broadcast programs in Total Viewers, Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49, ahead of both NBC's "The Tonight Show" and CBS' "The Late Show." This marks the 3rd straight year that the ABC program is taking the top spot in all 3 measures.

NOTE: On Tuesday (11/6/12), ABC's "Nightline" was coded as a special, while NBC's "The Tonight Show" and CBS' "The Late Show" did not air due to Presidential election coverage. All three shows' averages are based on 4 days (Mon, Wed-Fri).

Last week "Nightline" had extensive coverage of the election, with Bill Weir and Terry Moran live from the campaign trail and Cynthia McFadden in studio; reported the most up-to-date information on the resignation of CIA Director David Petreaus; and covered the Nor'easter that hit the Sandy-battered Northeast. The show also featured reports on a man freed decades after claiming his wife framed him for murder; Diane Sawyer's exclusive interview with Steven Spielberg and Daniel Day-Lewis about their highly-anticipated film "Lincoln"; a profile of actor Bradley Cooper; behind-the-scenes of "Stand Up for Heroes"; and went up-close and personal with the African white lion.

ABC News' "Nightline" is anchored by Cynthia McFadden, Terry Moran and Bill Weir. Juju Chang is a correspondent. Jeanmarie Condon is the Executive Producer. The program airs weeknights from 11:35 p.m., ET to 12:00 a.m. on the ABC Television Network. Together with "Jimmy Kimmel Live," "Nightline" is part of ABC's winning late night strategy of airing news and entertainment programming.
