"Dancing with the Stars" (8:00-10:00 p.m. - 10.6 million and 1.7/6 in AD18-49): Facing competition from CBS' 2-hour "Scorpion" premiere and NBC's "The Voice" from 8:00-10:00 p.m., ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" remained even with its most recent 2-hour telecast (last week's show was shortened to 1-hour for the Presidential Debate) in Adults 18-49 (1.7/6 vs. 1.7/6 on 9/19/16). Head to head, "Dancing" narrowed the Adult 18-49 gap with NBC's "The Voice" by 4-tenths of a rating point from two weeks ago (-1.2 vs. -1.6). "DWTS" also held exactly even with its same-night, last-year telecast in Adults 18-49 (1.7/5 on 10/5/15).

"Conviction" (10:00-11:00 p.m. - 5.4 million and 1.0/3 in AD18-49): Opposite strong drama competition at 10:00 p.m. from the final hour of the "Scorpion" premiere and NBC's "The Voice"-led debut of "Timeless," ABC's "Conviction" opened steady with the L+SD average for "Castle" originals last season in Adults 18-49 (1.0/3 vs. 1.1/4).

Projections Rationale: Lifts vs. L+SD are based on the 2015-16 season for premiere telecast or an average for originals (excluding the premiere).
Returning shows: Profile based on same show (either premiere or averages for originals).
New Series: Based on similar series.

A note about DVR penetration: DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample is currently at 49% in U.S. TV Homes. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which are increasingly not reflected in the overnight Live + Same Day numbers. As a result, the Live + 7 Day ratings are the most accurate measure to gauge the size of the TV audience.
