48 HOURS: "Father and Son" was Saturday's #1 non-sports broadcast program with viewers, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for April 12. "48 HOURS: "Father and Son" delivered 4.51m viewers and a 1.2/03 with adults 25-54.

Saturday's broadcast featured Susan Spencer and 48 HOURS' report on the death of Uta Von Schwedler, and her son's determined efforts to prove his father may have had a hand in her death.

Von Schwedler, a university research scientist, was found submerged in the bathtub of her Salt Lake City, Utah, home by her then-boyfriend, Nils Abramson. To some, the death appeared to be a suicide, but Von Schwedler's son, Pelle Wall, refused to believe she would kill herself. Instead, he would come to believe his father, Dr. John Wall, a noted pediatrician, was responsible for her death, and set out to prove it.

The investigation into what happened to Von Schwedler revealed a family fractured by divorce, affairs, allegations of abuse, and lingering anger between the husband and wife.

48 HOURS: "Father and Son" is produced by Josh Gelman, Avi Cohen and Bill Kerig. Charlotte Fuller is the field producer. Mike Vele, Marlon Disla, Alan Miller are the editors. Peter Schweitzer is the senior producer. Susan Zirinsky is the senior executive producer.
