Six Flags Great Escape Announces Extreme Supernova, 2014
Celebrating its 60 th Anniversary in 2014, Six Flags Great Escape announced today the addition of Extreme Supernova offering thrill seekers the ultimate rush filled with stomach dropping dips and inverted spins.
Suspended from an overhead axis, 16 riders will fly head over heels up to 50 feet in the air as land and sky become one through dual swinging and spinning motions. Once the outward facing riders are secured and the floor drops from below, Extreme Supernova will swing back and forth while guests are spun in endless circles delivering maximum G-Forces and high-flying sensations.
Extreme Supernova is scheduled to open Spring 2014 and will sit next to the famous Comet roller coaster. The ride will offer inverted views of lower Splashwater Kingdom as riders are swung high in the air and spun simultaneously in this action-packed new experience.
"This fierce ride is guaranteed to deliver an intense experience for thrill seekers of all ages," said Eric Gilbert, park president, Six Flags Great Escape Resort Properties. "Extreme Supernova is the ideal addition to The Great Escape in 2014 as it perfectly complements the nearby Comet and all of our great rides and attractions."
Six Flags Great Escape also announced today that 2014 season passes are now on sale at the lowest prices of the year and provide unlimited visits for the rest of the 2013 season (including Fright Fest) and all of the 2014 season. For a limited time, with the purchase of a season pass four-pack, guests will receive a free upgrade to a gold season pass, which includes free admission and free season parking to any Six Flags Theme Park with every pass. Annual Memberships Passes, which include all of the great benefits of a season pass, are also available at an affordable monthly price. Offer expires October 27, 2013.
To keep the thrills coming in the fall, The Great Escape's annual Fright Fest celebration will take place weekends, October 4-27, and feature the all-new, terrifying Ghost Town: Dead in the West scare zone and Nightmare Haunted House, plus extended hours including Friday nights.
