Columbia Marriott Proudly Debuts $12 Million Remodel Project
The Columbia Marriott has made a capital investment in comfort with the completion of a $12 million remodel project that is sure to raise the standard of Southern hospitality in the Palmetto State.
Reinvented eateries, reinvigorated meeting spaces and refreshed guest rooms now welcome guests to the largest downtown Columbia hotel providing refined spaces to dine, drink, work, socialize and sleep.
The makeover of the Columbia hotel's restaurants and bar is the cornerstone of the remodel project. Midlands' Modern Southern Food Arts, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, features new Southern cuisine served in a high-style, casual atmosphere. Chefs embrace local products to create award-winning favorites including shrimp and grits and chicken and waffles.
The Caf at Midlands', part of the hotel's day/night bar concept, is open for breakfast and serves Starbucks coffees and teas along with freshly baked pastries, fruit and other grab-and-go items. Kick back and relax on one of the eatery's plush sofas, or fuel up at one of the communal tables. In the evening, unwind and catch up with friends when the caf turns into Rocks at Midlands' serving craft beers and signature cocktails created by prompt and courteous bartenders in the same comfortable environment.
Conference and banquet customers will benefit from the Columbia Marriott's newly remodeled meeting spaces. Companies looking for convenient event rooms near a number of popular tourist attractions and within walking distance to federal and state courthouses, legislative buildings, University of South Carolina and the state capitol will find ample space with 18 meeting and banquet rooms with 27,000 square feet of flexible space. Two ballrooms with more than 6,000 square feet each offer elegant space for larger gatherings. A new, state-of-the-art boardroom provides just the right amount of space and privacy. A private lounge also was added during the renovation.
