The Bartlett Administration reclaimed the White House today - at least briefly.

In the midst of today's afternoon press briefing at 1600 Penn, Emmy winner Allison Janney surprised reporters by crashing the podium in character as White House Press Secretary C.J. Cregg from Aaron Sorkin's THE WEST WING. Before actual White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest showed up to reclaim his duties, Janney shot off a number of references from the long-running show, including the promise of a performance of The Jackal "if anyone still remembers or cares." Check out her appearance, via ABC, below!

NBC's The West Wing was created by Aaron Sorkin and was originally broadcast on NBC from 1999 to 2006. The series is set in the West Wing of the White House-where the Oval Office and offices of presidential senior staff are located-during the fictional Democratic administration of Josiah Bartlet (played by Martin Sheen).

The drama series was produced by Warner Bros. Television. The show won three Golden Globe Awards and 26 Emmy Awards, including the award for Outstanding Drama Series, which it won four consecutive times from 2000 through 2003.
