What do you get when you combine five classically trained Opera loving men with diva like aspirations and an endless supply of rousing musical theatre repertoire? Queens of the Night! (QOTN) This quintet of opera divas will return to The Duplex for one night only on April 23rd at 7pm to bring you the most un-Opera diva-esque concert of musical theatre reflecting on the woes of Winter and the fever that Spring will bring. With a set list that compiles favorites from composers such as Loesser and Wildhorn to more contemporary composers the dulcet tones of this quintet will not be one to be missed.

This installment of QOTN will feature returning members, Met chorister and musical director David Baldwin and Regional Opera star and Met chorister Max Wier. QOTN also welcomes Westminster vocal grad Michael Muñoz of Off Broadway's Original Naked Boys Singing, IU grad Lucas Thompson of Goodspeed's Good News!, and MSM grad Sam Perwin most recently writer of the Dixon Place's production of Gay Haiku. Mr. Perwin has also written the script and will be directing Spring Fever.

The Rites of Spring will surely be invoked with these five powerhouse voices and a most eclectic set list of musical theatre's best diva numbers.

Tickets can be purchased through Brown Paper Tickets (http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/611693) for an advanced sale price of $12 with a 2 drink minimum or at the door for $18 with a 2 drink minimum. The Duplex is located at 61 Christopher St. at 7th Avenue. NYC 10014.

About The Queens of The Night: Queens of the Night was born in the dressing rooms of the Metropolitan Opera House, whilst original cast members David J. Baldwin, Max Wier, Michael Bragg, and Sean Clark were waiting for a call to the stage for a very serious performance of a very serious opera, Wagner's Parsifal. Yearning for something a little less serious, yet still diva fabulous this quartet decided to bring to life some of musical theatre's best diva numbers. QOTN perform original mash-ups of pop songs, collages of musical theater standards, and all the favorite musical theater numbers they'd never be cast to sing, usually because the songs are written for the female voice. While cast members may change from season to season, Musical Director David J. Baldwin carries this original idea through with each new cast, while playing to the strengths of the new Queens. Queens of the Night have gone on to perform with NY City Center Encores (Joseph Charles Beutel), The Canadian Opera Company (Sean Clark), and on cruise ships (Kevin Rose, Michael Bragg).
