Minnesota Opera is excited to announce that reserved seating of its new opera, The Shining, is entirely sold out. With less than three weeks to go before the curtain rises on Minnesota Opera's final show of the season, all 7,056 seats across The Shining's four performances are sold out and only standing room tickets remain.

Artistic Director Dale Johnson said, "Achieving this milestone with our new production of The Shining so far in advance of opening is an incredible way to conclude our 2015-2016 season, and underscores the immense excitement and energy surrounding this ground-breaking opera. We extend our gratitude and appreciation to the Twin Cities community for their loyalty and support of Minnesota Opera's artistic vision."

Based on the 1977 best-selling novel by Stephen King, The Shining is a highly anticipated new opera by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Paul Moravec and librettist Mark Campbell. The Shining runs for four performances May 7-15, 2016. Standing room tickets are $28 and can only be purchased by calling the Minnesota Opera Ticket Office at 612-333-6669, Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
