Rachelle Durkin will sing the role of Norina in this Saturday's matinee performance of Don Pasquale, replacing Anna Netrebko, who is ill.

The Australian soprano, a graduate of the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program, made her Met debut in a 2002 new production of Wolf-Ferrari's Sly. She has sung roles in seven other operas at the Met, most recently Frasquita in Carmen, Miss Schlesen in Satyagraha, and Clorinda in La Cenerentola. She has performed often with Opera Australia including such roles as Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, and Armida in Handel's Rinaldo.

Don Pasquale, conducted by James Levine, also stars Matthew Polenzani as Ernesto, Mariusz Kwiecien as Malatesta, and John Del Carlo in the title role.
