MULAN, NCIS: LA Star Miguel Ferrer Dies at Age 61

Deadline reports that Miguel Ferrer, perhaps best known as Owen Granger on CBS's NCIS: Los Angeles, died of cancer on Thursday, January 19th at the age of 61. Ferrer was the son of Oscar-winning actor Jose Ferrer and Rosemary Clooney, and cousin of George Clooney.

A statement from NCIS: LA showrunner R. Scott Gemmill reads: "Today, NCIS: LOS ANGELES lost a beloved family member. Miguel was a man of tremendous talent who had a powerful dramatic presence on screen, a wicked sense of humor, and a huge heart. Our thoughts go out to his wife Lori, his sons, and his entire family. He will be greatly missed."

The actor was set to reprise his role as FBI Agent Albert Rosenfeld on David Lynch's revival of TWIN PEAKS, premiering May 21 on Showtime. The talented actor is mostly known for villainous roles, notably his BREAKTHROUGH role as the OCP Vice-president Bob Morton, the designer of the title character in RoboCop (1987). He is the main character in Toto's video clip of the song "I Will Remember" (1995).

He also voiced the antagonistic Hun leader Shan Yu in Mulan (1998) and Big Boss in Rio 2. Ferrer's other notable roles include Dr. Garret Macy on Crossing Jordan, Vice President Rodriguez in Iron Man 3, and FBI forensic pathologist Albert Rosenfield in Twin Peaks.

Nick Jonas Film THE GOOD HALF To Be Released This Summer

Following its premiere at the Tribeca Festival last June, The Good Half, starring Nick Jonas, will be hitting theaters this July. According to reports, the film has been acquired by Utopia and, in partnership with Fathom Events, a limited release will include 900 North American theaters on July 23 and 25. Attendees will also get to see a virtual Q&A with Jonas and director Robert Schwartzman. A wide release is expected later in the year.

Steve Carell Joins Tina Fey in Netflix's THE FOUR SEASONS

According to multiple reports, Steve Carell has closed a deal which would reunite him with Tina Fey in a television remake of The Four Seasons from Netflix. The Office alum will star in the remake of Alan Alda's 1981 feature, who will star alongside Tina Fey in the series. Fey co-created the adaptation with Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield, whom she worked with on 30 Rock. The film is set to go into production later this year.
