English National Opera to Broadcast in Cinemas Worldwide in 2014

English National Opera has announced that come this spring, it will be launching 'ENO Screen,' built around a new partnership with AltiveMedia, and bring their productions to cinemas worldwde, and in HD. The first to be screened will be Britten's Peter Grimes and Terry Gilliam's Berlioz's Benvenuto Cellini, which will broadcast live to cinemas in the UK and Ireland, and others, on Sunday 23 Feb.

The production is conducted by Edward Gardner and Australian heldentenor Stuart Skelton plays the title role. South African soprano Elza van den Heever takes on the role of Ellen Orford.

ENO will also broadcast Benvenuto Cellini in June 2014, set to be directed by Monty Python's Terry Gilliam, with Michael Spyres starring.

Serpent Productions' Andy Morahan and Dione Orrom will produce the broadcasts.
