David Serero announces that he will be producing Man of La Mancha in Paris on March 19th and 26th. This classic has not been done in the French capital since Jacques Brel himself back in 1968.

It’s been a long journey for the rising opera star, French baritone, David Serero who fell in love with this Broadway classic. In 1967, Jacques Brel saw for the first time Man of La Mancha and decided to adapt it himself in French language. It was a huge success back in 1968 in Paris with Jacques Brel as the title role of Don Quixotte.

The French baritone, David Serero has gained international recognition for his interpretations in Opera, Musicals, Concerts and Theater performances. He decided to bring this classic to the Parisian audience 45 years later. David Serero is the producer of this musical come back in Paris and will be playing the lead role of Don Quixotte.

David Serero said, "Jacques Brel made it so personal that French think that it’s him who wrote it! My devotion is to go back from the original masterpiece written by Dale Wasserman (Libretto), Mitch Leigh (Music) and Joe Darion (Lyrics). This is why I chose to produce a “hybrid version” with musical numbers in English and the libretto in French and to invite an American stage director: James Marvel. I have also written my own new adaptation in French from the play, bringing a modern sense without losing a bite of the poetry and lyricism of Don Quixotte!"

This performance will be held at the Theatre des Varietes in Paris on March 19th & 26th 2012. This Theater is well known in the French capital for its elegant style.

David Serero has also released his debut album “The Baritone Show” with Hits from Broadway shows (Man of La Mancha, Fiddler on the Roof, Show Boat), Russian songs and Opera.
