Ars Nova is set to present their latest mainstage production, NATASHA, PIERRE, & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812, from October 1 through November 10.

Lovers are betrayed, society is scandalized and glasses are raised in Dave Malloy’s electro-pop opera ripped from a slice of Tolstoy’s War and Peace. Young and impulsive, Natasha Rostova arrives in Moscow to await the return of her fiancé from the front lines. When she falls under the spell of the city’s most charming rogue, it is up to the disillusioned Pierre, a family friend, to pick up the pieces of her shattered reputation. Dumplings, vodka, spectators and performers collide in this unmissable theatrical event!

This World Premiere of an Ars Nova commission will reunite Malloy with director Rachel Chavkin, two members of the team behind the OBIE Award-winning Three Pianos (New York Theatre Workshop, Ontological-Hysteric Theater). Dave’s other works include Beardo, Sandwich, Clown Bible and Beowulf: A Thousand Years of Baggage, which has enjoyed several sold out engagements in New York, Berkeley, Edinburgh and Boston.

The cast of NATASHA, PIERRE, & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812 features Brent Arnold, Brittain Ashford, Gelsey Bell, Nick Choksi, Blake DeLong, Mark Dover, Amber Gray, Dave Malloy, John Murchison, Paul Pinto, Raymond Sicam III, Phillipa Soo, Lucas Steele, Sally Wall, Pinky Weitzman, and Amelia Workman.

Ticket prices for the performances between October 1st-6th are $10, October 9th-20th are $20, and the subsequent performances until closing are $30. Tickets for all performances may be purchased at www.arsnovanyc.com.
