The 'Plant is back! 2012 was a busy year for elusive roots band, 10 Ft. Ganja Plant. They released a critically acclaimed instrumental album, 10 Deadly Shots Vol. II ("their strongest set to date," according to The Wire), and played an incredible, rare, sold out show at Boston's Middle East Club. 2013 promises to be even better, with the band headlining not one, but two live shows this year, and releasing a rootsy new album full of vocal gems. This new album, Skycatcher, sees 10 Ft. Ganja Plant do what they do best... infusing that old school roots groove into timeless songs and sounds. This group of reggae purists, who hail from the Northeast and are rumored to share members with heralded reggae group, John Brown's Body, have captured the original 70's reggae spirit in a way that few other modern reggae bands have been able to do.

All lead vocals come from the core members of the Plant this time, with one song coming from Nate Silas Richardson, his first lead vocal since Bass Chalice in 2005. Due on the streets September 24th and preceded by a special performance for 550 people, Skycatcher is this year's freshest harvest and most potent strain. The CD release party will be at the Sinclair in Cambridge Massachusetts tonight, September 20th.
