Detroit Duo, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. are set to release their sophomore LP, The Speed of Thingsnext month. In the meantime, the guys have just released a brand new track - "War Zone." The song, which closes out the upcoming album, premiered this morning on Daily Candy. Check it out below!

"War Zone was the last song written for "The Speed Of Things" and is about a character who wakes up (or is dreaming of being?) in a warring region. It is unclear whether this "war" is a literal image, or more of a metaphor for the disconnectedness that the narrator is suffering from. "The Speed Of Things" focuses on a current phenomenon that author Douglas Rushkoff has coined "Present Shock." says DEJJ's Josh Epstein of the inspiration behind the track.

The Speed Of Things is the follow-up to 2011's acclaimed debut, It's A Corporate World. A couple months back, DEJJ put out the Patterns EP, which gave fans a taste of what to expect onTSOT. Blazing The Speed Of Things trail is addicting lead single "If You Didn't See Me (Then You Weren't On The Dancefloor)," which has an amazingly entertaining official video, that Funny Or Die premiered and Paste recently championed the hit as one of the top "Best Songs of Summer"alongside the likes of Daft Punk, Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke, Vampire Weekend, and more. The band performed the song on Conan last month along with "War Zone" as a web exclusive. "Dancefloor" is off to a great start at radio, with early support coming from KCRW, KROQ and Sirius Alt Nation and is set to make an Alternative Radio chart debut in the very near future. The guys recently stopped by Entertainment Tonight, who named DEJJ an "Artist To Watch," to play "Dancefloor" acoustic and Buzzfeed, to drop some knowledge as to Why Detroit Is Actually Awesome.
