Karmella aka the Queen of Urban Pop Soul, is a multi-talented artist with a unique style that combines soulful jazz, pop, and R&B funk. Karmella was introduced to music at a very young age as her father is a successful jazz musician and her mother is a popular gospel singer. She discovered her love for music at the age of four after watching Janet Jackson's video for "Love Will Never Do Without You." Since then, Karmella has been determined to make a name for herself in the music industry.

Karmella started her professional music journey when she was accepted into Howard University's Fine Arts program. While there, she honed her craft practicing 6 hours a day. This experience taught her self discipline leading to her being named by her teachers and peers as a star to watch. Deciding to take her career to the next level, Karmella became a backup singer for a local group named Ndelible. Her experience with the group gave her confidence with her talent and after graduating from Howard she branched out as a solo artist.
