CESAR MILLAN: THE DOG WHISPERER

BIO:
I was born in Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico, and grew up working with animals on my grandfather's farm. Because of my natural way with dogs, they would follow me everywhere. Other kids would bully me and call me el perrero — “dog boy.” I crossed the border into the US at 21, eventually getting a job as a dog groomer and walker. After the LA Times ran a profile of me, the guy walking thirty or forty dogs off leash, a number of production companies approached me to develop a TV show. This eventually became “Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan,” which ran from 2004 until 2012. I opened my Dog Psychology Center in downtown LA in 1999. Today, the much larger DPC is located in the hills of Santa Clarita. In 2012, I began a training course for dog trainers along with Cheri Lucas and Brian Agnew, and classes in “Training Cesar’s Way” will continue in 2013. I started the Cesar Millan Foundation on Valentine’s Day, 2007, and it, too, continues to thrive. Our mission is to create and deliver community humane education programs and promote animal welfare by supporting the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of abused and abandoned dogs, as well as by promoting spay and neuter programs world wide. In January 2013, my new show “Leader of the Pack” premieres and my sixth book, “Cesar Millan’s Short Guide to a Happy Dog,” is published. I hope that I can be an inspiration to everyone out there who is trying to live their dream.
