Omaha Performing Arts presents the Wayne Shorter Quartet at Kiewit Hall at the Holland Performing Arts Center tonight, April 2, at 7:30 p.m. The performance is part of Omaha Performing Arts' 13/14 Jazz Series.

Regarded as one of the most prolific performers and composers in jazz and modern music, Shorter has received substantial recognition from his peers, including six Grammy Awards and 13 other Grammy nominations. He's played in a number of iconic jazz groups, including Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers and Weather Report, which he co-founded. In 2001, he began touring as the leader of a young lineup featuring pianist Danilo Pérez, bassist John Patitucci and drummer Brian Blade, each a celebrated recording artist and bandleader in his own right.
