Over 800,000 YouTube subscribers are tuned in and well-aware of Peter Hollens' creative a cappella covers. Now fans get a first-time glimpse into his personal life, through the video release for a Peter Hollens original, "Ashland's Song." Watch the music video!

Beautifully simple melodies paired with story-telling lyrics stir up sentimental feelings of the unconditional love between a parent and child, one of the most cherished relationships. The touching, exquisitely penned song takes listeners on Peter's journey through the emotional day of becoming a father for the first time, and delivers the 'happily ever after' ending through bringing new life into the world, his son Ashland, now 5 months.

"This is a song that describes my state of mind during the time my wife was in labor and I was awaiting my firstborn son. I wanted to write about the experience so I will never forget this life-changing moment in time," said Hollens. "Being a father is the best thing I could have ever asked for!"

This is one of Hollens' most unique videos thus far. Not only is it his first original song in three years, but the video is shot from his own point of view. It is made even more special by the collection of home video and recordings of the first few weeks and moments of Ashland's life. Check out the video for "Ashland's Song" HERE

Along with his bi-weekly YouTube videos, Hollens will release his self-titled debut album on October 27 with Portrait/Sony Music Masterworks. The album is a compilation of fan-favorite covers as well as an original song. Fans can also expect collaborations with artists such as Jackie Evancho, Lindsey Stirling, and Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, among others. The album is available for pre-order here.

Hollens started his a cappella career in 1999 when he co-founded the University of Oregon's award-winning a cappella group, On The Rocks. He went on to graduate from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance. In 2010, Hollens was featured on NBC's The Sing Off Season 2 as a member of On The Rocks. He received praises from judges Shawn Stockman, Nicole Scherzinger and Ben Folds for solo performances while leading his group.

Since then, Hollens has been heavily involved in promoting the collegiate a cappella arts through recording, producing and judging competitions. Hollens has performed in iconic venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and the Beacon Theatre in New York City.
