Talk about lost in translation. When singer Peter Morén began translating songs he had written in his native Swedish to English for a pair of EP releases, he found some of them simply didn't work in another language. Speakeasy today premieres a video for one of the songs that did, an English-language version of 'Esther.'

Morén, one-third of the Swedish indie-pop group Peter Bjorn and John, found it 'liberating' to write in his native tongue on a pair of solo albums, 2010's 'I spåren av tåren' and 2012's 'Pyramiden.'

'I have a bigger vocabulary, you know, and it's easier to play with it,' Morén says. 'But when when we started translating things, I kept more than I thought I would. I kept a lot of the quirky stuff.'

The translated songs comprise a pair of EPs, 'Broken Swenglish' volumes one and two. Morén released the first last year; the second comes out this week and includes 'Esther,' a song named for Morén's dog.
