Mary, Did You Know? allows Edelfelt to do what he does best; make us feel the shiver of wonder as we contemplate the true meaning of Christmas. His own arrangement of Silent Night (accompanied by himself on piano) makes the nearly 200-year-old song appear completely fresh, yet appropriately reverent.
