LOVE IS BORN AT CHRISTMAS is the long-awaited debut recording from acclaimed vocalist David Edelfelt.

This timeless yet distinctively new collection of Christmas songs brings jazz, pop and classical elements to sacred & secular classics made all the more stunning by David's powerful, rich vocals. The recording is available at iTunes, Amazon.com and DavidEdelfelt.com.

Praised by the Chicago Tribune as having "a luxuriant instrument,"and called "a singers dream," by Platinum Award-winning singer-songwriter Ann Hampton Callaway, Mr. Edelfelt has crafted a very personal yet universally appealing collection of holiday favorites with an impressive variety of emotions and styles. Born out of the mixture of joy and sadness known to many of us during the holiday season, this recording project came to David during the first anniversary of his father's death at Christmastime a year ago. He found it was the familiar music of the season that helped him through his grief, and the result is an album made both for those who love the holiday and those who are challenged by it.

With his silky, velvety voice that New York Cabaret Scenes Magazine compared to "hot caramel," Edelfelt puts his own personal mark on mostly familiar (and a few newer) holiday songs. Backed by creative and sensitive accompaniments of jazz trio, harp and guitar, David takes the listener on a journey from the cool bounce of Winter Wonderland to the poignancy of I'll Be Home For Christmas, through the haunting In the Bleak Midwinter all the way to the joyous Go, Tell In On The Mountain. With his warm, caressing voice and interpretive skill, David gives a reverence to Some Children See Him which he uniquely pairs with A Child is Born in a way that makes us understand the title of the album. Mary, Did You Know? allows Edelfelt to do what he does best; make us feel the shiver of wonder as we contemplate the true meaning of Christmas. His own arrangement of Silent Night (accompanied by himself on piano) makes the nearly 200-year-old song appear completely fresh, yet appropriately reverent.

One of the collection's highlights is a newer, destined to be seasonal classic, God Bless My Family, composed by platinum award-winning singer-songwriter Ann Hampton Callaway, which also features guest vocals by cabaret favorites Tom Michael and Amy Matheny. David also offers a clever twist on three perennial holiday favorites for the children in all of us (Jingle Bells/Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town/Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer) that would bring a smile to Mr. Scrooge himself. David Edelfelt's LOVE IS BORN AT CHRISTMAS conveys all the emotion that the holidays bring, and exemplifies the deepest and truest meaning of the season; family, friends, fun, faith, and Love.

So bring out the eggnog, get ready to decorate the tree and don't miss David Edelfelt's new CD Love Is Born At Christmas. Treat yourself to this recording that is sure to become a part of your future holiday traditions.
