Broadway vet Rachel Potter is currently a contestant on FOX's THE X FACTOR. On last night's first live show, the singer hoped to hold on to her spot on mentor Kelly Rowland's "Over 25s" team with her version of Lee Ann Womack's moving ballad "I Hope You Dance". Watch the performance below!

Following the song, judge Paulina raved that the performance was brilliant from beginning to end, while Simon reminded the viewing audience that the last time we saw Rachel, she was horrible. (if we recall Simon, she was struggling with a horrible illness at the time yet still pulled off a fine performance!)

Former Destiny's Child member Rowlands loved what she saw and decided to put the 29-year-old from Seminole, FL into next week's live Top 12 round of competition!

Rachel Potter starred in the first Broadway revival of Andrew Llyod Webber's Evita in 2012 in the role of Juan Peron's mistress. She wowed audiences with her stirring rendition of the ballad "Another Suitcase in Another Hall." The actress made her Broadway debut as Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family, with music by Andrew Lippa.

Her other theater credits include Glinda in the national tour of Wicked. She was also a contestant on the MTV reality series 'Legally Blonde: The Search for Elle Woods.'
