Emmy Rossum recorded a beautiful, stripped-down rendition of "Stand By Me" in tribute to R&B singer Ben E. King, who died yesterday at the age of 76. She wrote, "This one's for you Ben E. King. Forever in our hearts." Watch her sing below!

King became well known during the late 1950's with his group The Drifters, whose hits included There Goes My Baby and Save The Last Dance For Me. In 1961, he released his solo song 'Stand By Me' which skyrocketed his career.

Rossum's acting performance in SONGCATCHER at the age of 13 earned her an Independent Spirit Award nomination in the category of "Best Debut Performance." In 2004, her starring performance as 'Christine' in THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA earned her a Golden Globe Award nomination, as well as the National Board of Review's "Best Female Breakthrough Performance" Award. The actress currently stars in Showtime's dark comedy series SHAMELESS.
