Campus DJ, the leading platform for college DJs and music producers, has held 18 regional battles over the past twelve months with thousands of college students representing over 125 different colleges and universities. The top five finalists, as determined through judge and fan voting, are now set for one final battle to compete for the honor of being named the best college DJ in the country. These talented finalists are: Jill Strange (Columbia College - Chicago), Keyst1 (Oregon State U), DJ Kurr (Florida State U), B-Hoff (Ohio State U), and Almond (Ithaca College).

The Campus DJ Championship will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 commencing at 4:15pm MST at AT&T Playoff Playlist Live! with College Football Playoff as part of the weekend of free concert events in downtown Phoenix, AZ leading up to the National Championship Game. The concert on January 9 will also include headline sets from Ciara, Walk the Moon, and X Ambassadors, following the Campus DJ competition.

"DJing to me is an active thing, it's very physical, and so is music. Having it be presented as almost its own sport is pretty cool," comments Kevin Wilson, ESPN's Director of Music.

The first-ever Campus DJ national champion Flaxo (Columbia University), has since gone on to sign with Complete Control Mgmt (Dada Life, Bingo Players and others) and received praise from notable publications including USA Today College. "Campus DJ has been so much more than a chance at a prize and a concert," says Flaxo. "It's connected me to other passionate DJs and musicians who I keep in touch with. I actually couldn't have imagined upon entering [the competition] all the great opportunities - both professionally and socially - that have come out of it."

As part of the weekend of events with College Football Playoff, Campus DJ will also be showcasing the top college DJs from Alabama and Clemson on Sunday, January 10 at the AT&T Playoff Playlist Live! main stage.

ABOUT CAMPUS DJ
CAMPUS DJ is now in its third year and upholds its original objective of providing collegiate talent with unique and life changing opportunities. Campus DJ is the only nationwide search for the top college DJs and music producers in the nation. Past notable participants include: Flaxo (Columbia University), Bentley Montes x King Tutt (UCLA and Icon Collective), Halogen (Georgia State U), Sokko & Lyons (U of Oregon), and many more. Since founding in 2013, Campus DJ has awarded more than $300,000 in total gear and cash prizing to participating college DJs and fans at events. "With Campus DJ, we are looking to give top college music talent an opportunity to showcase and gain exposure and connections," says co-founder Evan Shapiro.

Campus DJ is operated by CAMPVS, an intercollegiate entertainment platform focused on talent discovery.
