Tony Winner Bryan Cranston to Portray 'Mighty Zordon' in POWER RANGERS Film

Bryan Cranston will take on the iconic role of 'Mighty Zordon' in the highly anticipated POWER RANGERS reboot. The actor joins previously announced cast member Elizabeth Banks, whow will play the film's main villain, Rita Repulsa. The Tony and Emmy Award winner turned to Twitter to share the casting news with his fans:

Cranston won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play for All the Way. This was his first Tony nomination. Cranston began his acting career in local and regional theatres, getting his start at the Granada Theater in the San Fernando Valley. He is best known for portraying Walter Whitein Breaking Bad from 2008 to 2013, and Hal in Malcolm in the Middle from 2000 to 2006. He won four Emmy Awards and was nominated for five more.

Bryan Cranston won the 2014 Golden Globe® and three consecutive Emmy® Awards for "Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series" for his portrayal of Walter White on AMC's Breaking Bad. Cranston holds the honor of being the first actor in a cable series, and the second lead actor in the history of the Emmy® Awards to receive three consecutive wins. His performance has also earned him a fourth Emmy® nomination this year, a Television Critics Association award, three Golden Globe nominations and a Screen Actors Guild award.

On the big screen, Cranston won a second Screen Actors Guild award this year for his co-starring role in the 2012 Oscar-winning Best Picture, Argo, essaying the role of CIA operative Jack O'Donnell opposite star-director Ben Affleck.
